Walking in, you reach our main entrance on Nelson Mandela Drive. Hand your ID to the staff, then step up to a cashier station to swap your cash for casino chips. Only casino chips work at the live gaming tables - cash isn’t accepted directly at tables. Pick whichever game speaks to you, wait for the dealer’s call, then take your seat. Every player gets the same fair shake.

Blackjack at Mmabatho Palms

Four blackjack tables are available around the clock. There is always a real dealer behind the table and shifts change through the day to keep things fresh. The classic rules apply. Dealers must draw cards up to 16 and always stand on 17 or higher. Several decks get shuffled by machines between hands so things move quickly.

When placing a bet, put your chips in the marked circle before cards are dealt. When the dealer shows an Ace, you can take insurance if you like. Score a natural 21 and you are paid out at 3 to 2 odds. Insurance, if taken and it hits, pays 2 to 1.

At times, extra side bets are available. These options appear in well-marked spots at the tables. If you’re interested in trying your luck with these, watch for signage when you sit down.

The Roulette Floor

Four American Roulette tables await roulette fans, each with a wheel that has 38 numbered slots, including both zero and double zero. These double-zero wheels are standard here and raise the house’s edge compared to European wheels, but the playing experience is lively.

Betting is pretty open: straight numbers, split bets, corners, red/black, odd/even and more. Each table displays its own minimum and maximum bet limits on an electronic board.

Dealers will announce when bets are open and give a signal before spinning. You simply put your chips on the section of the grid matching your bet. After the spin, the table gets cleared of losing chips, and then winners are paid. It’s clear and fair.

Poker Choices

Two poker tables are available for various formats, depending on the crowd and scheduled events. Texas Hold’em is featured most evenings, run by our own experienced casino dealers.

Here’s roughly how it flows: dealers manage the pot and guide the pace. Each player gets two hidden cards, then community cards are laid out after each round of betting - that’s the flop, turn, and river. The options during play? Check, bet, call, raise, or fold. The dealer calls out totals and announces wins at the end.

There’s a rake on pots that reach a certain size, with the details listed right at the table. Watch for the sign before you start, so you know the numbers.

Slot Machine Zones

Away from the tables, we have over 150 slot machines waiting in several areas of the floor, and all are available any time, day or night. Our progressive machines are all linked, building up jackpots until a player wins big.
